Mobile App & Notifications
SwiftlyCRM installs onto your phone like an app and can send push notifications when something needs you - a deal assigned, a mention, a reminder falling due. Most CRM work happens between meetings, and that's where this matters.
Installing on Your Phone
There's nothing to download from an app store. SwiftlyCRM installs straight from the browser:
| Device | How |
|---|---|
| iPhone / iPad | Open app.swiftlycrm.com in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen |
| Android | Open app.swiftlycrm.com in Chrome, tap the ⋮ menu, then Install app |
| Desktop | Chrome or Edge shows an install icon in the address bar |
Once installed it opens full screen with no browser chrome, and behaves like any other app on your home screen.
Why there's no app store version
Installing from the browser means you always have the current version - there's no update to download and no waiting for app store review. It also means the mobile app and the web app are never out of sync.
Turning On Push Notifications
Go to Settings > My Preferences and enable push notifications. Your device will ask for permission - you have to accept it there too.
You'll be notified about:
- Records assigned to you
- Mentions in comments
- Chat messages
- Task and follow-up reminders
Tapping a notification opens the exact record it refers to, not just the dashboard.
Important
If you decline the browser's permission prompt, the toggle can't turn itself back on - browsers deliberately don't let a site re-ask. You'll need to re-allow notifications for app.swiftlycrm.com in your browser or phone settings, then toggle it on again.
Choosing What You're Notified About
Push notifications and email notifications are configured separately:
- Settings > My Preferences - your own push and email preferences
- Settings > Notifications - the organisation-wide defaults your admin sets per role
If you're getting too much, change your own preferences first. If nobody on the team is getting something they should, that's the organisation setting.
Working Offline
Records you've already opened remain readable without a connection, so you're not staring at an error screen in a basement meeting room or on a bad mobile signal. A banner appears when you're offline.
Anything you change while offline needs a connection to save - check that a save has gone through before closing the app in a dead spot.
Updates
The app updates itself. When a new version is available it's applied automatically the next time you move between pages, so you're never asked to reinstall and never stuck on an old build.
If Notifications Stop Arriving
Work through these in order:
- Check the toggle is still on in Settings > My Preferences
- Check notifications are allowed for
app.swiftlycrm.comin your browser or phone settings - On iPhone, confirm you opened the app from the home screen icon - Safari tabs don't receive push
- Check the notification isn't muted by a Focus mode or Do Not Disturb schedule
If they still don't arrive, turning the toggle off and on again re-registers your device, which resolves most cases.
